Using software to push back the limits of the moment method

A modification to the LINPACK subroutine for factoring a general matrix is presented. The modification practically eliminates page swaps when solving moment-method equations that are too large to be stored in core memory. The good stability of the original subroutine is maintained by exactly preserving the arithmetic. The new subroutine is demonstrated by using it in moment-method solution for electromagnetic wave penetration inside the bridge of a ship.<<ETX>>
