Research and Implementation of Training Integrated Simulator for Large Scale Cranes

This paper describes the development of a simulator which can integrate five kinds of cranes' handling functions. Based on researching five kinds of large scale cranes' driving and controlling functions, this article analyzes the feasibility of the integrated simulator. Furthermore, the cranes' virtual models are built using 3DS MAX, and one can control their inner relative mechanism motion with Quest3D. The multi-screen stereo projection technique is used to produce high quality video with a wide angle of view. Proven by practical tests, it is concluded that this simulator has excellent training effects.
