This paper explores the process of non-orthogonal building envelope rationalization using computation methodology of optimization as means for addressing the problem of complex geometry in comtemporary irregular architecture. It relies on the knowledge based modeling as a engineering technology to integrate the process from design to production. The proposed process of surface representation is facilitating the use of CAD/CAE/CAM technology into the architectural process, allowing architects, engineers and partners to collaborate on the project.
