Energy-saving optimization of train speed curve based on PSO

Railway transportation consumes amounts of energy. Direct energy consumption to complete the transport tasks is the main part of rail transportation energy consumption, especially traction system, which leads to the railway transportation costly. Optimization of the train speed curve plays an important role in minimizing the train energy consumption. This paper proposed an algorithm for optimizing the train speed curve based on the improved Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a simulation model is built which include preprocessing module, query matrix module, algorithm module and path information module. The simulation results demonstrated that the optimization algorithm is significant effect.
