Social impacts of disaster management in the coastal areas in Bangladesh

The study used the qualitative approach to ensure an in-depth analysis of how the implementation of disaster management system working in Bangladesh. The coastal areas of Bangladesh are selected to assess the capacity of affected people to cope with natural disaster. Bangladesh is mainly an agriculture based country; as a consequence, it largely depends on weather. It is a logical model that enables the researcher to make conclusions about relationships between variables in the study. At the end of the discussion, it could be said that the disaster management vision of the government of Bangladesh is to reduce the risk of people from the effects of cyclone disaster in the coastal areas but social conditions seem unsupportive. It is observed from the findings that Bangladesh has been failed to deal with a cyclone adequately that endanger the life cycle in the coastal areas.
