Recognition of echocardiograms by dynamic programming matching method

A model-based dynamic programming matching method is applied to extract the optimally fitting shape from each static frame in a sequence of echocardiograms, while allowing for a certain amount of change of length of each side of a model polygon. Discussions and experiments are presented in order, from general to specific. This is managed by beginning with the method for static 2D images, and adding integration and differentiation along the time axis. A temporal continuity condition is also considered. Finally, the knowledge that the movement is periodic and the moving region is restrictive is used to constrain the shape and position in the matching process.<<ETX>>
