Using Neural Nets to Investigate Lexical Access

The use of neural networks in the investigation of psychological theories is fairly recent. In this paper, we will show how the implementation of a particular reading model using neural nets has lead to interesting insights into how the meanings of a word may be accessed. Theories already exist as to how humans do this. The results from the neural net implementation give results which differ from these theories and as such give new insights into this area.
