Methodology for Attitudes Precisely Testing of Rolling Projectiles

In order to precisely test attitudes of rolling projectiles by using inertial measurement system, a novel method of half-strap down inertial measurement is proposed in this paper. Its key thought is to make inertial measurement system not rotate with rolling projectiles, and keep its longitudinal axis accordance with the longitudinal axis of rolling projectile by using a special half-strap down structure within system, so that we can effectively restrain the influence of high-spin rate of rolling projectiles on attitudes measuring precision, and finally implement attitudes precise measurement of rolling projectiles by using inertial measurement system based on low-range and high-precision inertial sensors. Based on introduction of researching background, motivation and innovations, we emphatically analyzed the feasibility of method, and discussed its model and algorithm, and validated its correctness and superiority by theoretically simulating a high-spin ballistic curve of rolling projectiles and doing half-practicality experiments.
