Smart noise jamming suppression by using atomic decomposition

This study considers the target identification problem for the linear frequency modulation (LFM) radars interfered by the smart noise, which is a newly proposed active jamming pattern much effective against the LFM radars. An adaptive jamming suppression algorithm is proposed by utilizing the atomic decomposition method. The means of establishing appropriate atoms dictionary is firstly provided according to the characteristics analysis of the dense false targets formed by the jamming signal. The target return and smart noise jamming are then decomposed as different atoms. Finally, the true targets can be distinguished from the dense false targets and the smart noise jamming is subtracted from the receiving signal. Simulation results validate the practicability and feasibility of the proposed algorithm, which also exhibits superior performance over other existing algorithms.
