The effect of time of feeding upon rumination

1. Two adult sheep were housed and fed once a day. The time of feeding was advanced round the clock by 4 hr. periods, one advance was made each week. The jaw movements of both sheep were simultaneously recorded for 48 hr. after the sheep had become accustomed to each time of feeding. 2. The time when rumination occurred was found to be independent of any time-relationship with eating.
