Modification of Divergent Abutments toAchieve Optimal Overdenture Retention

A completely edentulous patient presented with a chief complaint of a nonretentive mandibular implant-supported overdenture. The implants placed in areas #’s 22 and 27 exhibited excessive divergence from a frontal view. A method is described to resolve the patient’s chief complaint using prefabricated abutments and laser welding to correctly reorient LocatorTM attachments providing improved retention and patient satisfaction.
