Influences of Anchor System on Web Stress of Multi-Span Continuous Steel Tub-Girders During Hauling Construction

The anchor system is one of the most important key structures for hauling construction of multi-span continuous bridges, and local stress analysis of the anchor zone is a key technology of anchorage designs. An anchor system with a couple of horizontal lateral stay bars inside the girder and a pair of cantilevers on the outside web of the girder was installed for the hauling construction of the tub-girder of a continuous bridge. The concentrated hauling force transfer mechanism of anchor system and influences of the bending rigidity of the stay bars on the local stress of webs of the girder were studied by theoretical method and FE analysis.A simplified formula calculating the ratio of out-plane bending moment distribution was proposed.
