Occupational Performance Coaching for Chronic Conditions: A Review of Literature
暂无分享,去创建一个
This review of literature was undertaken to identify the role occupational therapists may have in addressing lifestyle behaviours that could help to combat chronic cardiac, respiratory and diabetic conditions. The authors will argue that occupational performance coaching which is based on occupational therapy theory, is well placed to address factors that affect lifestyle behaviours. Challenges in initiating and sustaining a healthy lifestyle to combat chronic conditions are commonplace. These factors are readily aligned to occupational therapy models and approaches. Occupational performance coaching by occupational therapists could bridge the gap between possessing knowledge and taking action.
