Solar PV DC nanogrid dynamic modeling applying the polynomial computational method for MPPT

Abstract Nowadays, distributed generation via residential branches connected to DC will spread as it is considered as an open energy system. In the near future, nanogrids will be the core of modern smart microgrids. Therefore, the main objectives of this chapter are to present the nanogrid using the enhanced photovoltaic diode model (EPVDM) to obtain accurate maximum power line. We shall then develop a novel of maximum power tracking technique named polynomial computational method; this developed novel of MPPT along with EPVDM will be tested at different modes of operation. In addition, we shall discuss operating this tracking method with a dynamic model of solar PV-DC nanogrid augmented with a battery storage system (BSS). The presented nanogrid has been deeply investigated and modeled to enhance system performance and to show better maximum power operation, which will be discussed throughout this chapter under different headings.
