Capacity of broadband CDMA wireless local loop systems

The wireless local loop (WLL) is an emerging technology that allows rapid connection to the wired network from remote locations. A crucial issue for the WLL is the system design so that the number of subscribers can be maximized while providing the required quality of service. In this paper, we consider a broadband wireless local loop with fixed point users and we evaluate the subscriber capacity for a slotted CDMA scheme which accommodates integrated voice, data, and video traffic. The impact of the system parameters on the WLL performance is studied via simulation and provides a useful insight on how to efficiently design the network.
