Characterizing discrete and distributed scattering of higher-order-modes in large-mode-area fibres

We characterize higher-order-mode content in large-mode-area fibres using spatially and spectrally resolved mode imaging. The technique is capable of distinguishing between discrete and distributed scattering of modes.
