Analytical study of a novel GAX-R heat driven refrigeration cycle

The paper describes and analyses the performance of a novel heat driven refrigeration/heat pump cycle, which combines the vapour resorption and the GAX cycles. The performance was shown to be critical and very sensitive to certain parameters, e.g., heat effectivenesses. The cooling coefficient of performance, COP, was found to approach unity, which is better than single effect vapour absorption and resorption cycles but not as good as GAX cycles. However the new cycle has the advantage of having a simple architecture resembling that of a single effect cycle.
