60-Gb/s Receiver Employing Heterogeneously Integrated Silicon Waveguide Coupled Photodetector

We demonstrate a digital optical receiver consisting of a heterogeneously integrated silicon waveguide coupled photodetector wire-bonded to a silicon-germanium receiver operating with bit error rate below 10-12 at data rates up to 60 Gb/s.
