Novel splice site mutation in LIPH identified in a Japanese patient with autosomal recessive woolly hair

tretinoin need to be applied twice daily for hair growth to be maintained, and side-effects are common, particularly irritant and allergic contact dermatitis of the scalp. Hair-bearing flaps, free composite strip grafts and follicular unit transplantation can be useful for a limited area of baldness such as the eyebrow. However, they are not recommended for the scalp in ED patients with symptomatic alopecia. We were able to successfully perform tissue expansion with a good cosmetic result and no complications. Tissue expansion can be a good technique to repair large scalp lesions in children with ED.
