Increasing the accuracy of frequency shift estimation for OFDM communication systems

This article discusses the problem improving the accuracy of frequency offset estimation in OFDM communication systems. Existing techniques to the assessment the frequency shift considered. Method improves the accuracy of estimation is proposed. The increasing of accuracy is reached by utilizing not only a reference sequence, but also the OFDM symbols contained user and service data. Mathematical modeling of the proposed method is produced. Dependencies between mean-square error of frequency shift estimation and signal to noise ratio are shown for different modulation index and duration of OFDM symbols. Depending obtained for the existing methods as well as proposed frequency offset estimation method.
