Influences of Blasting Sequence on the Vibration Velocity of Surface Particles: A Case Study of Qingdao Metro, China

Taking the no.1 air channel of Yan’an road station, no.2 Line of Qingdao Metro, China, as an example, this paper began with the monitoring of vibration velocities of surface particles after the blasting of auxiliary holes, and obtained the influences of blasting cavity on the vibration responses of buildings. We then proposed the reasonable blasting sequence to excavate the shallow and large section tunnels going alongside buildings. Results showed that the existing blasting cavity had good ability of vibration isolation. When blasting at one side of blasting cavity, the vibration velocity at the blasting side was larger than that at the other side. The largest vibration velocity of surface particles was located at 2.0 m ahead the excavating face. This research can provide the basis for the blasting design of subway and tunnel excavations.
