A full-wave RF energy harvester based on new configurable diode connected MOSFETs

RF energy exists widely in urban and rural areas and thus provides a promising and long-term energy harvesting source. This paper presents an RF energy harvester based on new configurable diode-connected MOSFETs. First, a new and a traditional configurable diode-connected MOSFETs are analyzed to show the advantages of the new configurable diode. Then, based on the new configurable diode, a 5-stages full-wave RF energy harvester at 2.45GHz is designed using boosting circuit. Finally, the full-wave RF energy harvester is compared with the half-wave one in term of the output voltage and power conversion efficiency (PCE). The results show that the RF energy harvester has the maximum PCE of 83.7%, the sensitivity is -15 dBm, and the output voltage and PCE increase with the increase of the load resistance.
