A universal and stand-alone datalogger for lab-on-a-disc applications

Lab-on-a-disc allows a large variety of microfluidic assays, in research, and lately also in industry. Standard lab discs are purely passive devices with off disc read-out, therefore efforts in electrically accessing the disc have been implemented with rather complicated setups via slip rings or generators. Here, we present a universal platform that not only transfers wireless energy to the disc, but has the ability to control variety of sensors and actuators as well, permitting on-disc experiments results to be transferred concurrently to the end-user.
