On acoustical resonance in tube arrays part II: Damping criteria

Several damping criteria are recommended in the literature to predict whether acoustical resonances in tube arrays will or will not materialize. This paper evaluates the ability of these criteria to differentiate between the resonant and the non-resonant cases which are reported upon in Part I and in the literature. Thereafter, alternative criteria for staggered and in-line arrays are developed and tested against experimental data. A brief description of the design procedure is also given.
