Dow sets up panel of environmental advisers

Dow Chemical last week announced creation of an international panel of outside experts to advise top company executives on environmental, health, and safety issues. Dow says formation of the panel is in keeping with the firm's philosophy of increasing its accountability to the public and its willingness to listen to divergent viewpoints. David T. Buzzelli, vice president and corporate director of environment, health, and safety, says, "We anticipate that we will get a candid perspective from outside the company on how we can improve our environmental performance at Dow. It will keep us abreast of trends and issues." The panel has seven members, but is expected to grow to 10 to 14. The seven are Anthony D.
