Analytical X-ray photogrammetry in scoliosis☆

Abstract Analytical photogrammetry was applied to determine the geometric characteristics of scoliotic deformities. Two radiographs forming a stereopair are treated in a general solution in which both the interior and exterior orientation of the X-ray bundles are computed. The derived digital model of the spine is supplemented by a series of computer-generated graphs which help to facilitate the interpretation of results. The analytical formulation of the procedure is discussed and its practical application described.
