An experimental study on the punching shear behaviour of RC slabs strengthened by GFRP

An experiment was conducted to investigate the punching shear strength and failure behaviour of concrete slabs strengthened with glass-fiber-reinforced-plastics (GFRP). The variables of eighteen specimens included concrete compressive strength, ratio of the reinforcing steel, and amount of GFRP. Test results indicate that the presence of GFRP substantially increases the punching shear capacity of slab-column connections.
