Finite element analysis of decoupled control 12/14 bearingless switched reluctance motor with the different rotor angle and current

This paper presents a FEM based analysis of Magnetic field for decoupled 12/14 bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM). The decoupled nature between torque and radial force in BSRM has an advantage to operate with a simple controller and the operating region & performance of motor is also increase. For decoupling purpose torque coils and suspension coils are separately wounded on stator poles. The torque coils are used to produce motoring torque and radial force coils are used to produce the radial force and control the rotor. The FEM analysis is carried out for flux distribution pattern at different rotor position, flux linkage for different value of control current, radial force (suspension coils) with angular position for different value of control currents, torque profile, torque and radial force (suspending force) decoupled analysis is done. The complete analysis is done in the FEM-MagNet software package.
