The Combination of Edge Detection and Region Extraction in Nonparametric Color Image Segmentation

This paper proposes an image segmentation method which is based both on edge detection and region extraction. In this method, the hue, lightness, and saturation attributes of color images are used effectively by employing fuzzy sets to quantify them.
