Ultra-Wideband BPF with Dual-Band Rejection Using Embedded Meander Stubs

A dual-band rejection ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with wide out of band harmonic suppression ability is presented. The proposed BPF is composed of a stepped impedance half wavelength transmission line and also four short circuited quarter wavelength folded stubs. To suppress the undesired out of band responses, a lowpass filter (LPF) is proposed which is composed of H-shaped and I-shaped defected ground structures (DGSs). Moreover, the proposed design exhibits two rejected bands at 5.5 GHz and 8.2 GHz to block the WLAN and satellite communication signals. The mentioned signal rejection is realized by embedded meander stubs. The length of the meander stubs are 65% less than the embedded straight open circuit stubs.
