Controlling Study of D-STATCOM Based on PSO-PID Algorithm

In distribution power system, with the increasing of pulsed loads and inductive load, these power quality problems was becoming more and more serious. Distribution Synchronous Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) was generally used to solve power quality problems in distribution systems. In the research processing of the device, the control strategies of DSTATCOM play an important role. In this article a novel adaptive control strategy was based on an improved Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm PID. With this control method, the compensator can stabilize the PCC voltage around a prescribed value. A distributes power system is developed in MATLAB environment, the validity of the method proposed is verified.
