A Note on "Building Skeleton Models via 3-D Medial Surface/Axis Thinning Algorithms"

Abstract In a recent paper (T. C. Lee, R. L. Kashyap, and C. N. Chu, CVGIP: Graphical Models Image Process. 56, 1994, 462-478), a new parallel thinning algorithm for extracting both the medial surfaces and the medial axes of a 3D object was presented. In this note, we rectify some assertions about 3D simple points characterizations which, in the above, are inexact.
