28-Gb/s upstream transmission in RSOA-based WDM PON using polar RZ PAM-N format and direct detection

We evaluate the transmission performances of 28-Gb/s polar RZ PAM-N (N=2, 3, 4, and 5) upstream signals in 20-km long loopback SSMF link by using a directly-modulated RSOA and direct-detection receiver.
