IMPAK PROGRAM LATIHAN PEKERJA SEKTOR PERHOTELAN, TEKNOLOGI MAKLUMAT DAN KOMUNIKASI (Impact of Employee Training Program in Hospitality, Information Technology and Communication Sectors)

Menyemai modal insan yang berkualiti tinggi, berpengetahuan dan inovatif dengan moral and etika yang kukuh menjadi sumber baru untuk memacu pertumbuhan produktiviti dan daya saing negara. Jesteru, Majlis Pembangunan Sumber Manusia (MPSM) ditubuhkan pada 1992 untuk menjana pembelajaran berterusan ditempat kerja dengan tujuan meningkatkan prduktiviti, pemindahan teknologi dan inovasi pekerja. Pada 2002 ia telah dinamakan sebagai Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB). Semua majikan yang berdaftar dengan PSMB layak untuk menggunakan grant latihan pekerja. Jumlah skim latihan yang diluluskan dan pembayaran semula grant latihan terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Kajian ini meneliti sejauhmana program latihan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemahiran, tingkahlaku kerja dan prestasi pekerja, dan apakah faktor berkaitan latihan berpengaruh secara signifikan kepada prestasi pekerja dan syarikat. Hasil kajian ini berdasarkan data yang dikutip menerusi soalselidik yang isi sendiri oleh 1,000 pekerja (30.4 peratus memberi maklumbalas) syarikat perhotelan, resort, teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi di tiga buah negeri terpilih. Hasil kajian menunjukkan, secara umumnya program latihan berupaya meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemahiran dan tingkahlaku kerja positif. Analisis regresi berbilang juga menyokong hipotesis faktor berkaitan latihan mempunyai impak positif terhadap prestasi pekerja dan syarikat.
