On the sliding mode regulator problem

Abstract In this paper we study the problem of tracking asymptotically a reference signal while rejecting the effect of a disturbance signal by means of the sliding mode technique. Analogously to the formulation of the so-called regulator problem, we define the sliding mode regulator problem and derive conditions for the existence of a solution.
