Objective:To assess the effect on the applicat ion of multimedia courseware in teaching of ophthalmology.Methods:In terms of the practice of teaching from 1997 to 2002,we co mpared multimedia courseware with traditional method.Results:There were 239 students(85 35%) who received the mode of mu ltimedia courseware,36 students(12 86%) who believed it the same as traditional mode,and 5 students(1 79%) who were unreceptive.There were 47 students believe d that multimedia courseware is helpful to study,129 students believed that it c an help to both comprehension and memory,69 student belived it can help to compr ehension,26 students believed it can help to memory,9 students belived it can h elp to neither comprehension nor memory.The average score of traditional method was 78 61±9 10,that of multimedia courseware was 79 58±9 19,(t=1 238 ,P0 05).Conclusion:It is indicated that multimedia courseware can improve st udents interesting and attention,it can also help to both comprehension and memo ry,but no effects on the examination.
