The Cross Ditch Bridge Investigation of the Middle Route in the South-to-North Water Transfer Project

Some problems in the cross ditch bridge design and construction,for instance,bridge abutment's rear soil sedimentation,expansive soil bed,prevention of oozing from the pier,final-period management were happened along with the Middle Route in the South-to-North Water Transfer Project。In order to solve those problems,more money should be added onto the project and those problems could also affect the cross ditch bridge and general channel。This paper analysed these issue and put forward appropriate measures to solve the problems from aspects of construct and management,and also gave a proposal to optimize the investment of the cross ditch bridge.
