MICROSTRIP ANTENNA WITH LOSSY PATCH

A high-permittivity ceramic substrate was used to reduce the microstrip antenna dimension on patch size as compared with a conventional low-permittivity substrate. A lossy conductive patch was studied for broadening the bandwidth. Here, experiments on single-feed circularly polarized (CP) microstrip antennas for global positioning system (GPS) applications are demonstrated. Results of the Smith charts, axial ratios, and radiation patterns are measured and discussed. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 18: 228–230, 1998.
