Blind identification of OFDM channel using receiver diversity

We investigate non data-aided channel estimation for OFDM systems. By exploiting channel diversity with multiple receive antennas, we propose a blind deterministic algorithm that can perfectly recover the channel response using only a single OFDM block. We study the extension of the proposed algorithm to the case when virtual carriers are present and provide some important identifiability results. In addition to being data efficient, the proposed algorithm is independent of the input symbol constellation, computationally efficient, and superior in performance compared with most existing blind algorithms.
