A new and simple on-line method for the preparation of n.c.a. [11C]methyl iodide

Abstract N.c.a. [ 11 C]CH 3 I was prepared on-line using polymer supported triphenylphosphine diiodide with a radiochemical purity of >99.5%, a mean sp. act. of 6000 Ci/mmol and a radiochemical yield of >90±2% ( n = 25), within an overall synthesis time of 11 min. Amounts of up to 800 mCi [ 11 C]CH 3 I have been prepared until now.
