Sea level rise impacts and the use of Bruun's erosion rule

Since 1970 the 'greenhouse effect' and sea-level rise have generated concern. Coupled with this have been dramatic predictions of massive coastal impacts (eg erosion), often based on the indiscriminate use of the 'Bruun' rule. However, in predicting future impacts on the coastal zone, certain factors need to be considered. This paper will attempt to address some of the questions that arise.
