Textual Plagiarism : How Should It Be Regarded ?

According to the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy, research misconduct is fabrication, falsifi cation, and plagiarism.1 Plagiarism is defi ned as “the appropriation of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.” It is an act of deception. It involves stealing someone else’s work and lying about it afterward. The digital age has made it easier to plagiarize (copy and paste) and to detect plagiarized text.
