The programmable waveform recorder for the whole ballistic process

A description is given of a miniaturized integrated measuring device that can be housed in a shell or rocket to obtain ballistic data under extreme ambient conditions, including peak acceleration up to 50000 g, high temperature, high pressure, and violent vibration. The sampling rate can be varied in steps from several hertz to one megahertz. The recorder contains eight analog recording channels and two independent trigger circuits. Three sampling modes can be optionally selected. They are Hi (high speed), Hi-Lo and Hi-Lo-Hi. The storage capacity is 16 kb. An interface for direct transmission of data to the IBM PC or other computers is provided. The working principles and operating instructions are detailed. As an example of the measured results, the axial acceleration of a shell during the whole ballistic process is considered.<<ETX>>
