A cellular architecture for image synthesis

Abstract Until now, only a few cellular machines have been built; but the development of VLSI technology leads us to think that this way has a great promise. In the field of image synthesis, this paper shows how some fundamental algorithms can be made cellular; an elementary cell is then described, from an architectural point of view. The internal and external behaviour of that cell is roughly specified. A simulation is now being made, and some cells will be realised, based on custom design technology.
