This paper proposes a two-degree-of-freedom type active noise control (ANC) with internal model control (IMC) in the feedback (FB) control in order to improve the performance for attenuation of road noise inside automobiles. It is shown that a howling canceller in FB-ANC is equivalent to IMC, and that the proposed method proves to be effective from the standpoint of attenuation through experiments by computer simulation using data measured in an actual car.
