Integrated production and preventive maintenance scheduling algorithm for flow shops

An optimum period model of preventive maintenances was built to maximize the machines' availability on production horizon.To consider production and preventive maintenance scheduling problems simultaneously,a heuristic algorithm was developed combining with the period model of preventive maintenances.An optimization objective is to find a schedule that minimizes the makespan.Simulation results show that the heuristic algorithm is feasible and valid in resolving the flow shop scheduling problem of integrated productions and preventive maintenances.
