Adjustable Pulmonary Artery Banding: A new strategy now available in Asia

The strategy of using the telemetrically adjustable pulmonary artery banding FloWatch-PAB® was introduced in Asia in an infant with multiple ventricular septal defects. A child 3 months old, 4.4 kg, after 2 months of hospitalization because of repeated chest infections due to the presence of multiple ventricular septal defects, atrial septal defect, patent ductus arteriosus and pulmonary hypertension, underwent successful palliative surgery with closure of patent ductus arteriosus and pulmonary artery banding with FloWatch-PAB®. This new strategy available now in Asia can offer a new possibility of treatment of complex congenital heart defects with lower
