Describing light mixtures through linear algebra

Light mixtures can be viewed as vectors in an infinite-dimensional vector space, and RGB color coordinates as vectors in a three-dimensional vector space. This Letter shows that there exists a linear transformation from light mixtures to color coordinates. Colorimetric phenomena such as metamerism and the object color solid can be elegantly described in terms of linear algebra.
