Performance measurement in supply chain supported by System Dynamics

Abstract An effective performance measurement system has to capture not only the performance of a company, but also how this is linked to the partners’ in a supply chain. Starting from a well-established model for logistic performance evaluation, LOGISTIQUAL, this paper tries to extend its validity beyond the boundary of a single organisation. Particularly, it aims at discussing the use of System Dynamics to connect the performance of a company and its suppliers', through homogeneous indicators. This work is the basis for developing a System Dynamics model to evaluate quantitatively the links between logistic performance at different supply chain echelons.
