Control of Robot for Ventilation Duct Cleaning

In this paper we will present control algorithm of robot for cleaning and inspection of ventilation ducts. Importance of keeping ventilation ducts in good condition should not even be discussed; it is enough to know that most countries in the world have strict regulations and laws that govern this. Analysis is mostly focused on code that controls robot, which is written in LabVIEW, and results of testing performed on robot prototype. Tests were performed in different environments. Robot’s movement was tested by putting different kinds of obstacles in its path to see its performance and simulate its operating environment. Because of its importance for functioning of robot, Wi-Fi signal strength was tested, and amount it drops over distance and through different materials. Time of robot’s autonomy was also put to test.
